BREAST SURGERIES
FOR THE MANHATTAN & MANHASSET, NY AREA

Women choose to undergo breast enhancement for a wide variety of reasons, and whether you have always desired a fuller bust or you are looking to rejuvenate your appearance after childbirth, Dr. Afridi will work with you to develop a plan tailored to your specific aesthetic goals.

Breast Augmentation and Revision

Breast augmentation is one of the most frequently performed cosmetic surgery procedures in the U.S. and one of our most popular services in Dr. Afridi's Manhattan office. Breast augmentation can give women with small or unevenly sized breasts a fuller, firmer, better-proportioned look through the placement of saline or silicone implants in the breast.

Breast Reduction

Large breasts can cause pain, improper posture, rashes, breathing problems, skeletal deformities and low self-esteem. Many patients have difficulty exercising and losing weight because their large breasts are so cumbersome. Some women find that their breasts enlarged during pregnancy and have not returned to their original size afterwards. Breast reduction surgery removes fat and glandular tissue and tightens skin to produce smaller, lighter breasts that are in a healthier proportion to the rest of the body.

Breast Lift

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is performed to return youthful shape and lift to breasts that have sagged as a result of weight loss, pregnancy, loss of the skin’s natural elasticity, or simply the effects of aging and gravity. The procedure can also reduce areolar size (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), and it can be combined with breast augmentation for added volume and firmness to return their breasts to their original youthful shape.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction restores a natural, symmetrical appearance to the bosom, maintains body proportion, allows clothes to fit better, and most important of all, boosts self-confidence for women who have lost one or both breasts to mastectomy, or who lack breasts or have asymmetrical breasts due to a congenital or developmental abnormality. Reconstructive surgeons strive to create a new breast and nipple that resemble the woman's natural breast as closely as possible in shape, size and position.

Dr. Afridi subspecialized for a year in breast reconstruction for cancer patients and finds this type of surgery to be exceptionally rewarding for both the patient and her.

Nipple Reconstruction

Pregnancy can leave you with inverted or stretched nipples that make the breasts look aged or unattractive. Nipple reconstruction reshapes one or both nipples to achieve a pleasing and youthful appearance. Nipple reconstruction may be performed using one of several techniques, including tissue and cartilage flaps, skin grafts and tattooing. It is most often performed as a second- or third-stage procedure in breast reconstruction for women who have undergone mastectomy.
